MINING GUIDES

How to choose an ASIC miner

A practical checklist for hardware, power and buying terms.

1. Start with your operating location

Decide whether the machine will run at home or at a hosting facility. Ask about available voltage, continuous power capacity, ventilation or water cooling, noise and permitted use. Have the electrical installation assessed by a qualified professional.

2. Compare the same configuration

Model names can cover several hashrate and power variants. Ask for the exact specification, condition, production batch and warranty. Efficiency is watts divided by hashrate; compare it only within the same algorithm and units.

3. Include the full cost

Enter your actual electricity rate, cooling overhead, pool fee and monthly management costs in the calculator. Add equipment, shipping, installation and any applicable charges to your purchase budget. A security deposit may tie up cash even if refundable.

4. Stress-test the scenario

Try a lower revenue assumption, higher electricity rate and reduced uptime. A payback calculation freezes today’s assumptions; it cannot predict coin prices, difficulty, equipment life or resale value.

5. Confirm the transaction

Get a written quote naming the seller, machine, quantity, price, delivery terms, warranty and cancellation terms. Confirm hosting fees and access to your pool account before committing.
